Entry Policies Due to Covid-19 for the Americas
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every country in the Americas, with some more severely hit than others. Many of the countries in the Americas have some of the highest death rates in the world from the virus and are currently struggling to rebuild their economies.
Due to this, many travel requirements are in place, and you'll also need to consider whether transiting through different countries is a possibility at this time. South America has struggled throughout this time, with Brazil, in particular, having been impacted the worst.
Therefore, following the regulations throughout your time traveling in this region is critical to minimize the spread of the virus and protect yourself and the local residents.
Before traveling to the Americas this year, you'll need to check the requirements for the individual country you are visiting. If you are visiting multiple countries, you'll need to keep this in mind, as each country has completely different rules and regulations that you'll need to follow to enter.
A few countries are still restricted to emergency travel only, while others have regulations in place to allow tourists from neighboring countries and further afield. This region of the world is one of the more welcoming to tourists, as they are hoping to rebuild the economy, and tourists are integral to that in many of these countries.
If you are traveling to the Americas, check out the individual requirements for the country you are visiting listed below. A lot of the countries in this region are using online health forms or declarations for travelers, which may need to be completed before you travel. On top of that, proof of a negative COVID-19 test may be required, which will need to be taken in a timely manner just a few days before you travel.
When planning a trip here this year, ensure you also check if quarantine is required for either leg of your journey. This may impact the length of time you wish to stay in the country due to this requirement at the start of your trip.
