Anguilla Entry Policy
For anyone planning a trip to Anguilla, it's essential to apply for approval to travel ahead of your visit. The application can be completed online in the comfort of your own home, and you'll receive a response within a couple of days to finish off the application. There is a fee associated with the application, which varies depending on the type of trip you are visiting Anguilla for.
Requirements for Application
Online Form
All visitors to Anguilla must complete an individual application to enter the country ahead of their trip, including children. You'll find there are also options to apply as a family, couple, or group, which may offer you a saving on the associated fee when a few of you are traveling together.
Basic Details
You will begin by completing an online application, which includes your personal information and details about your stay in Anguilla. For anyone who is not vaccinated, you'll need to provide proof of health insurance coverage for the length of your stay in Anguilla. Ensure you start this application at least seven days prior to your visit.
Concierge
From there, you'll be assigned a concierge, who will be the one dealing with your application. Ensure you always reply to their emails to complete the procedure. Once you are given pre-approval by the representative, you can begin to consider booking your flights and other aspects of your trip.
Negative PCR Test
Three to five days before your arrival in Anguilla, you'll need to submit a negative PCR test via the thread of emails from your concierge agent. After that, you will be granted your final approval and a travel authorization certificate to allow you to enter the country upon your arrival.
Anguilla Entry Process
Anguilla Entry Program
Before traveling to Anguilla this year, the first step will be to complete the online travel application form. If you are required to quarantine, you'll need to book to stay in either Safe Environment approved accommodation or apply for approval to stay in a private home.A COVID-19 PCR test is required for all visitors three to five days before your arrival, regardless of your vaccination status. Before booking a flight to Anguilla, you need to have a receipt of travel authorization from the Ministry of Health.
In order to enter Anguilla, ensure you have either a hard or soft copy of your travel authorization. Without this, you will be rejected for entry upon your arrival. On top of that, you always need to travel with a hard or soft copy of your negative COVID-19 PCR test results.
Before traveling, you'll need to review current quarantine restrictions, as these are a common requirement when visiting anywhere overseas in 2021.
For many visitors to Anguilla, they won't fly directly into the country. If you are transiting via Saint Maarten, Antigua, St. Kitts and Nevis, or the US Virgin Islands, ensure you've also completed the appropriate forms for your flights.
You are asked to specify your travel itinerary if you aren't coming from one of these countries when you complete your application.
Final approval for entry into Anguilla is only granted upon the receipt of your negative COVID-10 rt-PCR test. The only accepted test is the rt-PCR (polymerase chain reaction) with a naso-pharyngeal swab.
Alternatively, you can take a minimum of two SARS-CoV-2 gene targets 19 tests. Upon your arrival to Anguilla, the test must not be more than five days old. Infants and toddlers must also receive these tests, and upon arrival, all travelers will be tested again.
When a quarantine is required, another test is administered to clear you from this quarantine period.
International Traveler Options and Fees
When it comes to applying for the program for international travelers, the applications are split into categories of a quick stay of five days or less or a stay of up to three months. For either of these options, you can apply as an individual, family, group, or couple. You'll find the application to be very similar for any of these, but the fees are higher for the stay of up to three months. All of the fees are only payable once your application for entry is approved.
For individual travelers, the fee is $300 for a short stay and increases to $400 for a stay of up to three months. The fee always includes the two required tests in Anguilla, surveillance, and also covers the cost of public health presence on the island.
Couples pay $500 for two people for a short stay, increasing to $600 for a long stay. The family option for a short stay includes a couple for $500, and then you pay $250 extra for each dependent.
For a stay of up to three months, this fee starts at $600 for the couple and stays at $250 per additional person. The group fees work in the exact same way as the family booking, allowing you to add as many people as needed for an extra $250 per person.
Digital Nomads
While the majority of people entering for tourism purposes are likely to fall under the categories we discussed above, they also offer a separate option for digital nomads looking to visit the island. This application is suitable for anyone looking to work from the stunning island, and you can enjoy a stay of between 91 days and twelve months. You can apply as either an individual, student, or family for this type of entry.
The individual fee is $2,000 per person, and for a 4-person family, this increases to $3,000. You can add additional dependents as needed to this application. For this application, you also need to show proof of employment or a business incorporation certificate and meet the visa requirements.
The application process for digital nomads is very similar to that which we described above. You'll find you still need to show the negative PCR test to enter the country and to complete your application for entry approval.
One of the most common concerns is receiving your application approval back in time, but the site is constantly monitored. As long as your test is taken at the correct time, you should have no issue getting your application approved.
The entry permission certificate just needs to be approved by the day of travel, and you'll be ready to enter Anguilla.
Returning Nationals and Residents
Finally, if you are a returning national or resident of Anguilla, you will be subject to slightly different requirements once again. If you are a returning Anguilla passport holder, resident, resident stamp holder, work permit holder, or retired homeowner, you need to apply to return home.
Applicants will undergo a similar online application process and receive an email within one to two business days to state their application has been received. Returning residents will also be subject to any quarantine restrictions currently in place in the country.
You'll start by completing the online application form, after which you'll be able to book accommodation or apply to stay in place in your private residence. Three to five days before your trip, take a COVID-19 PCR test, which you'll need to submit before traveling as instructed during the application.
Continue replying to your assigned concierge throughout this time to avoid any delays or issues with your application. Before booking your flight home, you must be in receipt of a travel authorization from the Ministry of Health.
Ensure you travel with this authorization and your COVID-19 PCR test results as either a hard or soft copy to return to Anguilla.
All travelers to Anguilla currently must ensure they are arriving with a certified airline operator or certified boat. To transfer from St. Maarten (Dutch side) to Anguilla by boat, you'll also need to complete the St. Maarten health screening application form.
If you are staying in Anguilla for less than fourteen days, they also offer departure testing facilities, which you can discuss with your property's concierge.
