Overview
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has launched an e-service which visitors can use to obtain their SG Arrival Card to travel to Singapore. The new system was introduced to make it easier for travellers to apply and obtain this document conveniently. The entire process can be carried out online. Right from applying for the travel document to acquiring it, visitors can get everything done online. The best part about this newly introduced e-service is that applicants are now not required to visit an embassy to get the document. They only need to apply for the arrival card and it will be emailed to the applicant. It is, however, important to note that the SG Arrival Card is not a replacement or alternate document for a visa. Therefore citizens of some countries might get both, the Arrival Card, as well as the visa, to enter Singapore.

What is an SG Electronic Arrival Card?
The SG Electronic Arrival Card is a newly introduced system that enables travellers of different countries to get their travel permit to Singapore online. The system was introduced in March 2020 and it has led to discontinuation of the regular paper card. Once a traveller acquires this document, they are allowed to enter the country and travel within its national territory, without any hassles. It is important to note that the SG Electronic Arrival Card is in no way a replacement of the visa. Citizens of those countries who hold visa-required travel documents have to get an approved visa to enter the country. With Covid-19, the ongoing pandemic, applicants also have to get their Health Declaration to enter Singapore.
How to Apply For the Singapore Arrival Card?
Applying for the Singapore Arrival card is very easy and simple. The complete application process comprises only 3 steps. These steps are as follows:
Fill Out Application Form: First and foremost the application form must be filled out. All the information such as trip details, personal particulars and all the other information must be filled correctly. Once the form is filled, it must be submitted.
Submit Required Document: Along with the application form, applicants are also required to submit a scanned copy of their passport, which must valid for 6 months or more. The travel document must be scanned in the JPEG, PNG or JPG format.
Payment of Singapore Arrival Card: After the form and document are submitted, applicants are required to pay the fee. Applicants can use a valid credit or debit card for the payment process.
After the Arrival card is processed, its PDF format will be mailed to the applicants, which they must download and get a printout.
Instruction for Visitors Applying For Singapore Electronic Arrival Card
Before applying for the Singapore Arrival Card, it is advisable to check whether the applicants have a visa required travel document. If that is the case, then applicants must also apply for the visa.
Getting a visa or an SG Arrival card does not guarantee entry to Singapore. The immigration authorities at the airport have full right to deny entry to a certain individual if they find any issue with the document or they see any threat to the national security of the country.
