Tijuana International Airport Guide

The Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) or the General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport serves the Tijuana-San Diego area. While the airport itself is based in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, it has a dedicated terminal that lets passengers pass through San Diego, California, U.S.

If you are booking a flight to the TIJ International Airport, you might be more than intrigued about the operations of the facility. From finding information desks to discovering transportation assistance, even the most typical parts of moving through a busy airport might be enough to run a sense of worry into you.

Tijuana International Airport has two terminals: the Main Terminal and the Cross Border Express (CBX).

The Main Terminal has two levels. The ground level entertains arrivals, while the upper level manages departures. The terminal has 23 boarding gates to facilitate passengers.

Cross Border Express

The CBX is a terminal bridge that is accessible to passengers traveling through the TIJ Airport. Through this bridge, passengers can cross the border between Mexico and the U.S.

If you are entering the Tijuana International Airport from the U.S., you need to have your passport and other identification as well as your travel documentation with you. You can also only enter the TIJ from the U.S. within 24 hours of your flight’s departure from Tijuana Airport.
