India is a country with great historical significance. Millions of people travel to India every year to experience its beauty and amazing historical sites.

If you are thinking about traveling to India then there are certain things you should always keep in mind. First and foremost, international travel can get very hectic, So you need to have a plan on how you are going to go forward with the trip.

Arrange Everything Beforehand

Once you buy a ticket for a specific date, it is ideal to have all the documents and information ready before you take off. Try to get everything ready days before the departure date. This will give you ample time to rest between the planning and the exact departure date.

Flight And Visa Status

If you are traveling to India, you need to have a Visa for that. You should have your Visa approved before you make the journey otherwise you will be returned from the airport.

However an approved Visa isn't the only pre-requisite for an international travel to India, you also need to confirm your flight status. Sometimes flights can get delayed or rescheduled. So you have to be very careful about such things.

When it comes to flight status, the immigration office may also ask you to show an exit ticket from India as well. This will help the authorities identify that you don't live in the country more than you have a visa for.

Get the Hotel Booked Before Departure

You can find a lot of amazing hotels in India. However, sometimes finding a good hotel at the last minute can be difficult. So you need to make the reservations way before the departure date.

If you are traveling during the holiday season then you need to book a hotel months before the actual date.

Another reason that you need to book a hotel beforehand is that while filling the Indian visa form, you might be asked about the hotel where you will be staying so you need to provide authentic information.

This information can help you stay safe on your international trip. When authorities know where you are staying, they can track you in case of any mishap.

Tourism Company in India

Hiring a local tour operator or tour guide can be helpful.

The guide can design personalized tours, help a foreigner navigate the language barrier and he/she can also take you to unexplored wonders.  A tour operator or a guide helps you optimize your stay. It is a good idea to hire them, however, after thorough research into their operations and functioning.

Make a decision based on reliable information facts so that you do not regret it later.

India Visa Application

You have to make sure that all the information you provide on the Indian Visa application form is true and authentic. You will have to provide a lot of information. Some of this information may also be personal like marital status, employment status and pre-existing medical conditions.

You will also need to provide your flight information and the hotels you have booked for your trip. In case there is a change you need to inform the travel agency so they know that you are safe and secure on during the trip.

There are many other things that you need to consider before you travel to India. The documentation might be an important aspect of international travel but you need to check other things as well.

Have Transportation Ready at Airport

It is also important to let your relatives back home know about your travel plans and return dates. They can contact the authorities in case of an emergency.

Weather forecasts may not be 100% accurate. However, reports from the Indian government’s Met department help you to be prepared for emergencies irrespective of the seasons. Things can turn ugly if you are not well equipped to face bad weather conditions.

Check for Current Political Environment in Area

India is politically stable. However, it is always good to be aware of the political, cultural and social scenarios in India. In case of political unrest, you should contact your embassy.

India had witnessed massive demonstrations by farmers protesting against the government’s new farm laws between 2020-2021.

The prolonged protests received support from foreign countries and celebrities like Rihanna, and this development agitated those who defended the Indian government.

Many incidents of alleged altercation between foreigners and supporters of the Indian government were reported in the media.

It is always better to take precautions and research political and social developments before planning a trip.

Currency Rates

While visiting a foreign land, you need to exchange your nation’s currency with that of the destination country.

Googling the currency exchange rates is a good step. It is advised to exchange some currency even before you embark on the journey. This way, you can escape the exchange fee.

On an average, a US dollar can be exchanged for 79 Indian rupee and one UK pound can be exchanged for 94 rupees.

Check When India is in High Season

India is a vast country. The country’s peak tourism season is largely considered from November to February. However, it varies from state to state.

While southern states like Kerala see the most foreign visitors from January to September, the northern states welcome tourists between November to February.

Kerala is known for its monsoon (from June to September) and festivals like Onam. Many foreigners visit the state to experience its unique lifestyle, culture and the rains.

The northern states have mild climatic conditions between September to February. Those who love a desert safari or love to explore the majestic palaces and architectural wonders opt for these months to visit India.

The country has much to offer and you can decide on a place and time for the trip based on your connivences and interests.
