ETIAS for Mexican Citizens

Travelers who live in Mexico but want to visit Europe for business or for pleasure will need to get an ETIAS visa waiver if they plan to travel after the system is put in place. This will happen by 2021 if not before. Fortunately, the ETIAS visa waiver for Europe is easy to get. Since it is designed to keep travelers safer than ever before, they should be happy to take the time to apply.

Mexican citizens are eligible for ETIAS

Applying for an ETIAS Visa Waiver for Europe

The application for an ETIAS for citizens from MX is available online. It only takes 10-15 minutes to fill out and applicants can expedite the process by having all of the necessary materials gathered beforehand. They will need:

  • A current passport from MX for each traveler applying for an ETIAS visa waiver. The passport should be valid for at least 6 more months. If it isn’t, that traveler will need to get a new passport before applying.
  • A valid credit card, for paying the application fee. This will not be stored or used for any other purposes.
  • An email address. This should be one that the applicant can check regularly until he or she hears back about their application.

Applicants should be ready to answer questions about their personal data. What they enter here needs to match the data on their passports exactly. They will also need to enter information about any previous arrests and convictions, certain political affiliations, their travel to countries where there has been conflict or dangerous diseases, and more.

Once the application for an ETIAS for citizens from Mexico has been submitted, travelers will need to wait anywhere from a few minutes to several weeks before they hear whether it has been approved or not. Processing time depends on how busy the system is, etc.

Getting the Most Out of an ETIAS Visa Waiver

Travelers who get their ETIAS visa waiver for Europe approved can rejoice because they don’t need to get any other travel permissions to enter the Schengen Zone and move about among the countries included there. The ETIAS for Mexican citizens is good for 3 years or until the traveler’s current passport expires, whichever happens first.

However, in order to visit Europe on the same visa waiver, all subsequent visits must begin in the same city that is listed on the waiver. Otherwise, the traveler will need to get a new ETIAS visa waiver.

Each traveler visiting the Schengen Zone will need his or her own ETIAS for Mexican citizens. This includes infants and small children, though their parents may fill out the application on their behalf.

Travelers on an ETIAS visa waiver can stay in Europe for up to 90 days at a time, which should give them plenty of time to explore and make their travel dreams come true or complete their business transactions.

Visiting Europe can be fun and profitable for Mexican citizens. Once the ETIAS visa waiver system is in place, it will be safer than ever before, too!
