ETIAS for Macedonian Citizens

By 2021, the Schengen Zone countries will have implemented the new European Travel Information and Authorization System, or ETIAS. While this system does add an extra step for travelers from Macedonia who want to visit those countries in Europe, it does not require them to get a visa. It also adds to the safety and security of both travelers and citizens in the Schengen Zone.

Macedonian citizens are eligible for ETIAS

How to Apply for an ETIAS Visa Waiver for Europe

Getting an ETIAS for citizens from Macedonia is quick and easy. The application is available online and only takes 10-15 minutes to fill out. Each part of the application has instructions and filling it out is a straightforward process.

Macedonian applicants can make the application go even faster by making sure they have a few things available before they start it. They will need:

  • An email address that they can check regularly. Their ETIAS visa waiver approval or denial will be sent here, so it’s important that applicants be able to get news about their visa waiver.
  • A credit card. This will only be used to pay the application fee for the ETIAS visa waiver for Europe. It will not be stored or used for any other purposes.
  • A valid passport from Macedonia. This should have at least 6 more months of validity. If it does not, the applicant should get a new passport before applying for an ETIAS for Macedonian citizens.

Once they have submitted their application and paid the relevant fees, they should hear back on their ETIAS visa waiver status within a few weeks. However, many travelers will hear back much sooner than that and some may get approved almost immediately.

How to Use an ETIAS Visa Waiver for Europe

An approved ETIAS for citizens from Macedonia is all that a traveler needs before they visit the Schengen Zone. The ETIAS visa waiver is electronically connected to their passport, so there’s no need to carry a paper copy unless the traveler wants to do so.

Travelers entering on an ETIAS visa waiver for Europe are free to move about among Schengen Zone countries without needing any further travel permissions. Since borders are open in the Schengen Zone, it’s easy to go from country to country.

Visitors can stay for up to 90 days at a time and their ETIAS visa waiver is valid for up to three years or until their current passport from MK expires, whichever comes first. However, they will need to enter through the same Schengen Zone airport each time they travel, or they may choose to get a new ETIAS visa waiver if they want to switch airports later on. Each member of a party will need their own ETIAS visa waiver for Europe. This includes infants and small children.

A visit to Europe can be a dream come true! Macedonian citizens should find it easy, under the new program, to get their ETIAS visa waiver and travel as much as they want to!
